What are Environment Levels in Pokémon Pokopia?

Environment Levels are a measurement of how well you've developed each biome area in Pokémon Pokopia. Each environment in the game — from Bleak Beach to Palette Town — has its own level that reflects how much work you've put into building it up. The maximum Environment Level is 10.

Raising your Environment Level is key to progressing in Pokopia. Higher levels unlock new Pokémon to befriend, new building recipes, and new features in each area. It's one of the core gameplay loops alongside befriending Pokémon and completing requests.

How to check your Environment Level

You can check your current Environment Level by visiting the PC inside any Pokémon Center. Interact with the PC and select the 'Environment' tab to see a breakdown of your level progress for each biome. The PC will show you what's contributing to your level and how close you are to the next one.

Complete Challenges

One of the main ways to raise your Environment Level is by completing the challenges listed on the bulletin board. These are tasks like befriending specific Pokémon, crafting certain items, or building particular structures. Each completed challenge gives a boost to your Environment Level for that biome.

Build more Habitats

Placing habitats is another major contributor to your Environment Level. The more habitats you build and place around a biome, the higher your level will go. Different habitat types — Grass, Flowers, and Hedges — all count, so diversify your placements for maximum effect. Each habitat type attracts different Pokémon too, so this helps with befriending as well.

Create Buildings

Constructing buildings and structures is another way to raise the Environment Level. Buildings like shops, cafés, and decorative structures all contribute. You'll unlock new building recipes as you progress, and each one you place in the environment adds to your level. Make sure to tidy up any mess or debris in the area too — a clean environment scores higher.

Increase Pokémon Comfort Levels

Each Pokémon in your environment has a comfort level based on whether their needs are being met. Check a Pokémon's preferences in the Pokédex — they'll want specific habitat types, furniture, and food. Meeting these needs raises their comfort, which directly contributes to the overall Environment Level.

Focus on giving Pokémon their preferred habitats and placing furniture and food items that match their tastes. Happy Pokémon mean a happier (and higher-level) environment.

Can Environment Levels decrease?

Yes — Environment Levels can decrease if you remove habitats, demolish buildings, or let Pokémon comfort drop. If you take away things that were contributing to the level, it will go back down. So be careful about demolishing or moving structures unless you're planning to replace them with something better.
