How to Unlock Palette Town
To unlock Palette Town, you need to: learn Rock Smash by befriending Hitmonchan, navigate west from the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center past rock piles, build a bridge using blocks to cross a sea gap, and boot up the Palette Town PC. You'll also befriend Eevee here, which unlocks multiplayer features.
Building & Customization
Palette Town is Pokopia's dedicated sandbox area — not connected to the main story. You can freely build, terraform, and construct custom structures block-by-block without any pre-existing terrain. It's a blank canvas (literally a blank Palette!) with endless possibilities.
Bring Pokémon from other areas to Palette Town to keep all your favorites in one place. You can even rename the town during initial setup.
Exclusive Pokémon — Eeveelutions
Certain Pokémon, particularly Eeveelutions, can only be befriended by building their specific habitats inside Palette Town. Check the Pokédex entries for each Eeveelution to learn what habitats they require.
Game Share & Multiplayer
Game Share is a feature that lets you share the game for free with another console — perfect for Switch 1 or Switch 2 players without the game. Palette Town is the exclusive location for Game Share gameplay.
In Co-Op, when visiting other players' islands you'll explore their version of Palette Town. Game Share players can place and destroy blocks but cannot build pre-made structures. Use the PC at the Pokémon Center to set up Link Play.
